Hey Y'all,
Personally, 2016 has been a year of Bollywood, thanks to my siblings. Almost every movie released had one or more hit songs. But, not all of us are hindi fans, and sometimes, some songs, no matter how nice, just go unnoticed.
So this is a tribute to all the amazing songs of 2016. Inspired by the recent article on filtercopy.com, with the best 12.

11. Bol Do Na Zara - Azhar

Another Magic by Amaal, this and 'Itni Si' were equally loved by fans. If you've watched the movie, and if you loved Itni Si, loving this could be quite hard, especially if you are girl, no girl would want her man singing such words for another.
But as a solo song, a completely different love story, then yes, this is a song to die for. Perfect for those sleepless nights to listen on repeat. The 3 A.M and Up Kinda Song, you could put it on loop and just stare at the ceiling, and probably wonder about life in general.
"Nahi chal sakunga tumhare bina main, Mera tum sahara bano"
(I’ll not be able to walk without you, you be my support.)
12. Jeena Marna - Do Lafzon Ki Kahaani

I found this song by accident, while I was listening to a playlist on Gaana, and instantly fell in love. It Starts off like Sunn Raha from Aashiqui 2. That could also be a reason to like it, and towards the middle, the music is just wow. It definitely has the Aashiqui Soundtrack feel.
Even the movie has a 6.8 IMDB rating, so, yes, do watch the movie as well.

13. Mujhko Barsaat - Junooniyat

Speaking of finding songs by accident, here is another, again on Gaana.com , on an Armaan Malik Playlist. The Starting music reminds me of the 90's end. Heroine dressed in a plain chiffon or georgette saree, soft focused background, that is what you would visualize when you listen to it, after twice or thrice though.
Why twice or thrice you ask? Cause you never know when the song starts and ends. Sooooo good, if I could explain the song in one word, it would be 'Nasha'. Best of the best of Armaan so far.

14. Jag Ghoomeya - Sultan

Here is one which everyone will not like immediately, it takes time, even for me, adding this for the list was a battle.It's like aged wine or something, you listen to it, you can almost feel the weight of the years, even though it is a new song.
If you are on a road trip or vacation, and want something to listen at around 6 in the morning, while the place smells of wood smoke, and you are sipping black ginger coffee, here is the song. Also, don't forget to visualize the chicken coop. (Even though the video is not like any of this)

The thing about ARR Songs, you listen to it, it's not love then and there, it takes a while, could be a day or half a day. You will want to listen to his songs without even realizing you are in love with it.
Tu Hai was such a song, I watched the video, and "Hmm, It's a nice song, not bad", later the same day, I'm on gaana, listening to it.

An Atif Aslam hit after a long time. I'm kinda reminded of 1st of January Morning with Traditional Food, while listening to this. And also of sunsets, beaches and a lighthouse.
Such a soothing melody, and unfortunately, your soul yearns for a partner while listening to this.
"Main hoon soona sa ek aasmaan, mehtaab tu…"

17. Kho Gaye Hum - Baar Baar Dekho

Throwback to a Younger, Teenager Sid!
Not much of a fan favourite when compared to the other songs from the movie, but such a comfy one. No bang bang music, minimal BG music, soft singing, very nostalgic. Remember your Childhood and all that playtime?

18. Sau Aasmaan - Baar Baar Dekho

Reasons to lurrrrrrve Sau Asmaan? Amaal, Armaan, Sid and Phuket.
You should seriously consider that getaway to Thailand, the video shows the place from whole new angle. Yup, Asia IS beautiful.
Back to the song, everybody loved it, from Day 1, and this could have also been a reason to go watch the movie in the theater, not that it's bad or anything, it's a good movie.
Even though it starts off like a regular female only love song, that moment when Armaan's voice joins, DAMNNNNNNN! Now you know why girls like him.

Loads of songs go unnoticed every year, and sometimes they turn out to be the best, both in audio and video.
Dariya is such a song, I knew I'll love it the moment I listened to it, and I did love it. After Love you Zindagi, this is the most positive, very 5.45 AM kinda song,
It also feels like a typical Ayushmann Khurrana song for me, does it for you?

(This heart is such crazy one. for so long it's been waiting for you.)
20. Phir Kabhi - M.S. Dhoni

One of the most awaited movies in Bollywood, cause everyone wanted to know the life story of Captain Cool, and if Sushant can fit into his shoes?!. The Answer, HELL YEAH!
Back to the songs, unusually the songs became an even bigger hit before the release of the movie. All the songs from the movie was composed by Amaal, in 4 languages, so I don't see why it wouldn't become a hit.
Phir Kabhi is a very boyish, jovial, newly in love kind of song. With his New found fame AND love, how does MSD balance both? Watch the video to find out.
"Dil pe taras aa raha hai, pagal kahin ho na jaaye"
(I'm feeling bad for the heart, I hope it doesn't go mad.)

How Cute is Disha Patani? She's a crossover between Ileana and Shraddha, did anyone notice that?
Blinded by Love, says her Smile, Lyrics and the Video.
Beautiful song, but I personally don't listen to it very often, mainly cause of how the song ends, and so does her role in the movie.

Ladies and Gentleman, WE HAVE A WINNER!
Jab Tak, both versions, are pure pure bliss. This is one of the main reasons for people to love the movie, who wouldn't love the present?
You can go on and on and on with the song, it's a drug, it's healing and a reason to blush at any given time.

Within a day of the teaser release, everybody had fallen for the title track. For the lyrics, Arijits voice and Ranbir.
Once the movie released, and everyone knew the plot, there was no going back. If you are in love, deeply in love with someone, and that someone is your everything, you live for them, love for them, at all times, under any circumstances, this is for you.

23. Bulleya - Ae Dil Hai Mushkil

24. Channa Mereya - Ae Dil Hai Mushkil

This is probably the song of the year, while literally everyone loved Jab Tak, this was loved by a certain crowd, a quite big crowd actually. The usual hindi song fanatics. And when asked what is your favorite from ADHM, they would reply with Channa Mereya.
Arijit's voice just gives a whole new meaning for loving the song.
"Kitni dafa subah ko meri, tere aangan mein baithe maine shaam kiya"
(So many times I have turned my mornings into evenings sitting in your courtyard.

25. Tu Hi Hai - Dear Zindagi

And now to end the list with the another by the STAR of the year, Arijit!
After watching the movie, I can't help but laugh whenever I listen song, you'll know why if you have not watched it yet.
But such a lovely song, perfect to listen at night, while at the beach probably. The song plays in the BG most of the time, so I managed to attach the only available video online.
"Jiske liye dil sambhalne lagaa hai, wo kaun hai, tu hi hai"
(The one for whom this heart has started getting back in control, who is she? you are the one.)
