Who would've thought that Tea and Spices would go so well together on a skincare product?
I've always skipped the Ceylon Tea range for no apparent reason, but when it arrived with my purchase, I had to overcome my thoughts of a scrub smelling like Chai and try it.

HOW TO USE
Before bath, apply lighty all over body. Leave for 5 mins.
Wet skin with milk, massage in circular motions for 5 mins & wash off. For best results follow with SPA CEYLON Ceylon Tea Bath & Shower Gel & Ceylon Tea Body Butter.

INGREDIENTS
Aqua/Water, Glycine Soja (Soya Bean) Oil, Glyceryl Monostearate, Cetyl Alcohol, Glycerine, Jugfans Regia (Walnut Shell) Powder, Parfum/Fragrance, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Peg 4 alivate, Peg 40 Hydrogenated castor oil, Mel (Pure Bees Honey), Sandalwood Bark Powder, Olive fruit Oil, Tocopherol (Natural Vitamin E from Soya), Ceylon Black Tea leaf extract, Ceylon White Tea leaf extract, Ceylon Green Tea extract, Cinnamon Bark Oil, Cardamom Seed Oil, Coriander Seed Oil, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Hydroxyacetophenen, Potassium Sarbate

SCENT
The package says SPICE, but unless you read the ingredients, you have no idea what spice scent to expect.
I was expecting this to smell strong, tea like with a hint of nutmeg maybe, everything that would make me say NOPE.
Surprisingly, it's a very calming fragrance, with Cinnamon being the top and overall note and the smell of young tea leaves wafting in between.

TEXTURE
It’s a thick and gentle scrub, the scrubbing beads are not too gentle, but they are not too harsh on skin as well.
A VERY Milky Tea coloured Scrub
APPLICATION
You are supposed to apply it before bath on dry skin, leave for 05 mins, wet skin with milk or water, massage in circular motions and wash off.
Even a very very light layer on skin will turn creamy upon contact with a liquid. So use the product wisely.
I tried using it on wet skin, like a regular body scrub, and it worked fine, but I love the dry skin method more, cause there is no need to use a soap or shower gel whatsoever.

Lightly spread on dry skin
Wet skin with water

AFTER: It may not look like a lot, but felt so good
AFTER APPLICATION
Skin felt supple, clear, a tad bit brighter, hydrated and like I put on a layer of bath oil.

If you haven't read my post about the bath oil yet, check it out here:

I didn't have to use a bath oil, lotion or any other moisturizing product afterwards, cause the scrub did it for me.

PRICE
2250 LKR (13$) for 225g

FINAL VERDICT
The body scrub is 100% Vegetarian, free from chemicals, saves soap, extra hydrates my dry skin, smells so good that I feel sleepy by the time I'm out of the shower, and 5g covers the entire body, what more can we expect from a body scrub?.
OVERALL RATING: 5/5

  1. As stated by Stanford Medical, It is indeed the ONLY reason women in this country get to live 10 years longer and weigh an average of 19 kilos lighter than us.

(And by the way, it is not related to genetics or some secret-exercise and really, EVERYTHING around "HOW" they are eating.)

BTW, What I said is "HOW", and not "WHAT"...
