SPA CEYLON AYURVEDA Jasmine Frangipani Eau De Ceylon : First Impression Review

I tested this product without even reading what it was, and somehow I was 95% convinced that this was an Essential Oil blend for aromatherapy and my mind was already making plans that involved an oil burner and reed diffusers.

But then, turns out it's a Cologne, that you are supposed to splash on your body.

I mean, all Colognes I've known my entire life were watery, evaporates fast and the scent of rubbing alcohol over-powered the actual scent of the product.

What makes the SPA CEYLON EAU DE COLOGNE different from the regular ones we are used to?

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Set out on a blissful journey through tropical Ceylon with this light, breezy cologne.The aromatic island water is infused with soothing Jasmine & delighting Frangipani combined with the freshness of Ceylonese floral blossoms, fruits & herbs.

HOW TO USE

Splash-on all over body for tropical freshness.

INGREDIENTS

Alcohol (From Natural Cane Sugar), Aqua/ Water, Parfum/Fragrance, Peg 40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Jasminum Officianale (Jasmine) flower extract, Plumeria Alba (Frangipani) flower extract, Cl 61570

SCENT

Floral, very tropical, or rather very Sri Lankan, it's a scent unique to our country, and I'm immediately reminded of Temples and Tissamaharama.

It's very strong, but calming.

TEXTURE

This category is unique to Spa Ceylon, with every product, I'm awed by how different the product feels, and how they've managed to give products the texture that we've only imagined.

This product has the consistency of a roll on balm/oil, it's non watery, doesn't evaporate fast, and even though it's an oil, it's not greasy or sticky on skin.

APPLICATION

I applied a few drops on my pulse points, it didn't feel different or uncomfortable on my skin, and even though I did try a few drops, the scent was strong but not overpowering.

P.S. When I test products to review, I don't use any other product along with it, so that I can give my unbiased and honest opinion.

AFTER APPLICATION

The scent lasted around 06 hours on a humid day, considering I used it only on my pulse points, 06 hours is a great deal.

PRICE

3600 LKR (around 21$) for 100ml

FINAL VERDICT

It IS on the pricier side for an Eau De Cologne, but it's stronger, lasts long, not PACKED with alcohol, and like with all their products, a little goes a long way.

Even though it's technically a cologne, you can use it in place of a perfume, or pair it with their amazing (NIGHT JASMINE!!!) perfumes on very special occasions.

One of my greatest captures of all time

Bath & Massage Oils are the most UNDERRATED products of SPA CEYLON , these need much recognition and more people have to try them out.

03 years ago, I was desperately looking for a Body/Bath Oil, and most of the beauty stores I went to, didn't even know that such a thing existed. After doing a thorough sweep of their website, found it at Spa Ceylon, bought it, been in love ever since.

This is my first time trying the bath oil in SENSUAL SANDALWOOD, read on to find out if it managed to impress me.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

A sensual blend of herbs & essential oils Hydrate & de-stress the body & mind. Organic Mysore Sandalwood helps cool, calm & relieve the senses while soothing & balancing the skin. Earthy Vetiver deeply relaxes & promotes tranquility, while precious patchouli helps de-stress & calm. Pure Gingergrass helps comfort & uplift the senses while refreshing the skin. Organic fresh Aloe Vera Hydrates entire body system, while naturally anti-oxidant Virgin Coconut & Sweet Almond nourish & increase circulation, improving overall health & well being

HOW TO USE

Aromatic Massage: warm in Spa Ceylon Oil Warmer, apply & massage.
Daily Moisturizing: after bath, apply a few drops on wet skin & towel dry.
Soothing bath: add 3 tablespoons to warm bath. Soak & relax.

INGREDIENTS

Cocos nucifera (Virgin Coconut) Oil & Soja hispida (Soya) Oil & Sesamum indicum (Sesame) oil infused with Aloe barbadensis (Aloe vera), Inula recemosa (Costus), Santalum album (Sandalwood), Vetiveria zizanoides (Vetiver), Myristica fragrans (Nutmeg), Nigella sativa (Blackseed) & Pandanus amaryllifolius (Pandan Leaf), Prunus amalgydamus (Sweet Almond) Oil, Tocopherol acetate (Natural Vetamine E from Soya), Santalum album (Mysore Sandalwood) Oil, Pogostemon cablin (Patchouli) Oil, Vetiveria zizanoides (Vetiver) Oil, Fragrance, Cymbopogon martini (Gingergrass) Oil.

SCENT

Pure Mysore sandalwood-ey, my least favourite scent in this world, BUT the fragrance is bearable, just like every other product by the brand.

However, THIS PARTICULAR SCENT eliminates the need to use a perfume afterwards.

TEXTURE

Now we get to the tricky part, only the creators can explain this, cause it's a mixture of oils that doesn't feel like regular oil?

Less viscous, light weight.

APPLICATION

YOU HAVE TO USE THIS ON WET/DAMP SKIN. That's what is says on the bottle, and that's what I'm saying.

The effect it has on wet skin vs dry skin is completely different.

So, just like I do, take the product with you into the shower, apply on wet skin, pat dry with a towel.

06 drops goes a very long way on wet skin, so keep that in mind when using.

And if you are not a fan of oils, or how it feels on your skin, GIVE THIS A TRY and you might be amazed.

AFTER APPLICATION
It does everything and more than what it claims. Everyone whom I recommended this to, were impressed by the product.

PRICE: 1800 (around 10$) for 150ml

FINAL VERDICT

This is MY holygrail product. I will always recommend this first for those looking for a bodycare product. Plus, this lasts for a very long time, more than a year.
And I don't think I'll ever find a product better than this.

SPA CEYLON AYURVEDA Water Lily Body Lotion : First Impression Review

I wanted to review the Spa Ceylon goodies in the order of my favourites, but decided against it and proceeded with the order in which I took it out of the pouch.

I already own the Body Lotion (Pink Lotus), Body Butter (Jasmine & Coconut) and Bath Oil (Red Sandal & Lemongrass) by the same brand, but never reviewed the Butter or Bath Oil even though I love them.

So, this & upcoming related posts serve as FIR for them as well.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

A naturally gentle formula with a soothing of herbs & floral extracts to moisturise, nourish & care. Olive & Honey soften & calm skin, protecting against moisture-loss. HOW TO USE

TEXTURE

Lightweight, but the consistency is thicker than a regular lotion, non watery, almost like a slightly diluted body butter.

SCENT

Subtle, Floral, Nostalgic, first thing that pops into my head, Indian Sweets and Scented Erasers.

But has a very strong frankincense base note, not sure if it's added though.

APPLICATION

A little goes a long way, non greasy, doesn't leave an oily residue and ABSORBS VERY FAST.

It's a little messy on damp skin, takes a while to absorb, but it's magic on dry skin.

AFTER

I generally hate lotions because I can feel it after application, and I end up sweating. But the Spa Ceylon lotions changed my perspective.

Not only do they absorb fast, it keeps skin hydrated, smooth, and breathable. You can put the lotion on, on the hottest day and not feel a thing.

PRICE
2200 LKR (around 13$) for 300ml

FINAL VERDICT
Instead of buying several, perfumed lotions packed with chemicals, I would always choose this.

It may look expensive, but considering the consistency, this can last longer than regular lotions, and because of what it does, it's worth it.
